Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Romania Jeffrey Franks will pay a two-day visit to Bucharest on Feb. 21-22, answering the invitation extended by Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu.
Jeffrey Franks will be accompanied by Director for Romania with the European Commission Istvan Szekely.
"On the invitation of the recently appointed Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, Head of the IMF mission to Romania Jeffrey Franks and Director for Romania with the EC Istvan Szekely will pay a visit to Bucharest on February 21-22 to meet with the members of the new Cabinet in order to hold talks on the recent economic evolutions and the implementation of the program. It is common practice for the IMF to visit a country financially supported by the IMF and the EC, that has recently changed its government," said Tonny Lybek, the IMF regional representative in Romania and Bulgaria.
The letter of intent for Romania's stand-by arrangement with the IMF agreed on the latest IMF visit to Bucharest in Feb. will not be discussed.
